Goulburn River Stone Cottages are part of the property "Gleniston", situated 50km north of Mudgee on the headwaters of the Goulburn River, Upper Hunter Valley, NSW. The property covers an area of 872 hectares (~2000 acres) and includes large areas of native forest and bushland, with gentle creek flats rising to basalt peaks of grazing country.

"Gleniston" supports a wide variety of inland and coastal flora and fauna and is lightly stocked with cattle and horses. It adjoins Goulburn River National Park, renown for its spectacular sandstone cliffs and gorges, where shallow clear water meanders through beds of sand and peat, occasionally forming deeper pools.
