Located on the Derwent River to the immediate north of Austins Ferry Yacht club and the launching ramp at the end of Austins Ferry Road, Derwent Retreat is only a short drive from the Brooker Highway and to get there you actually drive through historic James Austin Park where the first ferry in Tasmania was located. The property is an ideal Hobart base for business or pleasure as it is close to major business and tourist attractions. Public transport is easily accessed and shops are less than half a kilometre away. A Woolworths-Safeway Shopping Centre is one kilometre away. Wireless Broadband and Computer facilities are provided.
All main rooms have wonderful views of the Derwent River and Mount Wellington.
To get there from Hobart, find your way onto Main Road and follow north or south as the case may be to Austins Ferry. Turn down Austins Ferry Road towards the water. Austins Ferry Road is opposite the stone gates to historic Roseneath Park.
Follow Austins Ferry Road to the water and turn left into the car park just before you arrive at the boatramp. The dirt road that exits from the other side of the car park is the driveway to Derwent Retreat proceed along and park at the house.
