Hatherley is unlike any other hotel of the HIP genre. Listed on the National Estate Register, this is a grand old 1830's home that has been re-crafted to retain all its original magnificence & style but at the same time transformed into a lavish, breathlessly intimate contemporary hotel.
Its Interior has become and unexpected combination of the antique and ultra modern - of gilded paintings, Eastern tapestries, Indian carvings, African sculptures, winding staircases, a magnificent vestibule, secretive niches and suprise balconies. All these antique features juxtaposed with ultra-modern, high-tech bathrooms in translucent glass, stainless steel and Tasmanian timbers.
Like an English parkland, Hatherley's gardens evoke a feeling of sheer expanse. The garden's backdrop is a rich and evocative landscape, which can within moments be essentially Australian, undeniably European or irresistibly English, depending on the mood and point of view of the observer.
Hatherley has a choice of suites. There are four Superioir Suites and five Deluxe Suites. The Suites are sumptuously equipped with all white, ultra-modern bathrooms and translucent glass, stainless steel and Tasmanian timbers, some with European style spas, others with baths or showers, all with under-floor heating and heated towel rails. Suites are equipped with lavish king, queen or twin single beds, exotic silk covers and ottomans. Each has the ultimate in sound equipment, flat screen DVD TV's, and high speed internet connectivity.
